Selenite also known as satin spar, desert rose, or gypsum flower are four crystal structure varieties of the mineral gypsum. These four varieties of gypsum may be grouped together and called selenite.
The name 'Selenite' derives from the Greek goddess Selene, the goddess of the moon. It has a very fine vibration that brings clarity of mind. It brings deep peace and is excellent for meditation and spiritual work.
 
Placed around the house it creates a peaceful atmosphere and protection. Selenite is best known for being a clearing & purification crystal. It can be used to clear the aura from negativity or stuck energy, and to clear crystals by placing them on top of a flat piece of selenite. Because of this property, it does not need to be cleansed or charged.
